No matter how hard we try and convince her, Chloe the cat thinks she's one of the gang. Given that she sleeps in the flowerpot, I wonder if my tulips will survive next season?

Half an hour of thunder and a five-minute torrential downpour does not a break in the weather make. Rain+sun+flowers does make for nice photos, though. :)

Crochety

Well, what else to do when it's a cool grey rainy sort of day? It will be a hat, eventually. This hat, but in cooler yarn, and generally slouchier. :) Still gotta do the brim and the bit that goes around the head itself.

Let me count the ways

have I mentioned how much I love my little PalmPilot? It's got everything - I read books on it, use it as a diary/calendar, keep track of my spending, and I can even play games or draw on a little graphics program... it's got everything!

When the wind blows

We went for a photographic-rockpooling sort of drive down to Kilcunda, the mouth of the Powlett River, and eventually all over Phillip Island. A fun day, and heaps to poke around and see. And yes, we did OD on the sunscreen. :)

Hot pink

... just like my poor legs, actually. (They're going blue and green and all sorts of trippy colours now). I like the roses - they always look good. Especially on bright sunshiny days.

Ouch, ouch, OUCH!

Never forget to replenish the sunscreen on the backs of the legs when snorkelling. Lobster-red, swollen limbs are really not a good look. Nor is hobbling. Or grimacing and being wussy. All of which I'll be doing rather a lot until the sunburn starts to heal...

Dinner's ready!

We went snorkelling again today. We saw a huge black stingray (easily 2mtrs across, and of course my camera played up then!), when I ventured way out of my comfort depth to play, and N caught flathead for dinner with his hand spear. :) This dude was maybe 50cm long, but it was hard to measure properlt with him being all curvy when we got him home.

Fed to the fishies...

I gave N a shark dive for his birthday last year, and he finally went! It was SO cool, what with the whole diving and the sharks and the patting of stingrays thang. In the throng of anonymous divers you could spot him a mile away with the coloured wetsuit and the video camera. Speaking of which: his video from inside the shark tank was awesome...!

MIA

Oh poo. My unbroken run of daily photos and posts has been broken. In my defense, though, I didn't actually get time to take a photo, let alone post one, as we went out to dinner as soon as I got home and didn't get back until 11ish, at which time it was too late for anything but shower and bed. (My phone battery was flat, so I didn't even get a chance to snap something with that!)

So here's one I prepared earlier:

We went snorkelling at sunset. Very cool, and heaps to see: anenomes, starfishies, shiny fishies, little fishies, a blenny... Unfortunately, I had camera problems, and didn't get as many as I wanted in focus. Still, I'm very proud of myself for diving UNDER water to get this shot. Got water in my snorkel and everything...
