Just back from Bellydancing, Lesson One. Actually, it was Lesson Three/Four for the other beginners, because we enrolled late, but you get the idea.
There were seven of us in the class, and I didn't feel as unco-ordinated as I thought I would (that may be the cold/flu medication, though), starting out with a few basic steps as a warmup, then getting into a routine involving undulations and veils, in which both Charissa and I got thoroughly mixed up.
The Advanced class joined us halfway through, and (amidst snobby we're-better-dancers-than-you looks) we did an intensive workout involving all the standard steps. Shimmies, turns, hip circles, chest circles, chest shimmies, you name it. *whew* What a workout! (Although most likely I worked up an uber massive sweat because of this horrid bug)
I'm exhausted. It's much more of a workout than when I did bellydancing with Sal.
